About the Role 

Virginkar & Associates, Inc. (VAI) is seeking a highly skilled Software Programmer with strong expertise in Microsoft Office automation, VBA development, and SQL integration. This role supports internal teams by building advanced tools, automating workflows, and integrating data across platforms to improve efficiency and user experience.  

The candidate will work in a collaborative consulting environment where innovation, precision, and problem‑solving are valued. Candidates should bring both technical depth and the ability to translate complex processes into intuitive tools for non‑technical users. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Develop and maintain advanced Microsoft Word and Access macros, VBA scripts and HTML to automate document creation, formatting, and data integration. 

  • Build and modify VBA functions that interface with cloud networks to support Microsoft workflow automation. 

  • Create and enhance custom ribbons and toolbars in Word/Access/Outlook to improve usability for non‑technical staff. 

  • Generate and manage metadata using Word VBA and integrate Access VBA with automated SQL scripts to produce customized reports. 

  • Create, optimize, and maintain SQL scripts, queries, and views to support reporting and analytics. 

  • Maintain Access-based tools with VBA that connect to SQL databases for real‑time or on‑demand data retrieval. 

  • Build automated forms and interfaces that simplify data access for non‑technical end users. 

  • Integrate Word VBA with ShareFile APIs to automate document retrieval, permission controls, and workflow processes. 

  • Support internal teams by improving document management, data flow, and automation capabilities. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent field. 

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in software programming, automation, or related technical roles. 

  • Software Programming Experience in large scale documentation automation or transit industry a plus. 

  • Strong proficiency in VBA, Microsoft Word/Access automation, HTML and SQL. 

  • Experience with cloud‑based workflows, API integrations, and metadata management. 

  • Ability to translate technical solutions into intuitive tools for non‑technical users. 

  • Must be able to engage with clients immediately towards faster short-term resolutions and work towards long-term goals. 

  • Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced consulting environment. 

Location

Fullerton, CA, Philadelphia, PA, or remote (work hours will be based on Eastern Standard Time)
