About the Role 

Virginkar & Associates, Inc. (VAI), serving clients nationwide, is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team. The selected candidate will work closely with the Design and Deployment team to ensure systems are compliant with procedures and fully prepared for testing. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a rail project in a hands-on capacity. 

Key Responsibilities  

• Collaborate with design and deployment teams to ensure technical compliance with engineering procedures and standards. 

• Support the planning and execution of system readiness activities, including pre-testing and field validation. 

• Participate in fieldwork to support system integration and troubleshooting. 

• Analyze engineering data, system specifications, and integration requirements. 

• Prepare technical reports, test plans, and system readiness documentation. 

• Interface with cross-functional teams to align design and deployment objectives. 

• Identify and resolve technical issues that arise during installation and testing phases. 

• Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering and testing processes. 

Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering. 

• 5–10 years of relevant engineering experience. 

• Strong understanding of system engineering principles and practices. 

• Experience in systems integration. 

• Prior work on rail or train control projects preferred. 

• Fieldwork experience in infrastructure or transportation settings. 

• Familiarity with BART systems or similar transit environments ideal. 

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. 

• Must be computer literate and advanced level in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. 

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with experience working with senior management and clients. 

• High ethical standards, attention to detail, and commitment to team collaboration.
